Dr. Mark Slabaugh nationally recognized lecturers

On Saturday, April 1, 2023 Dr. Mark Slabaugh was among nationally recognized lecturers at the Cherry Blossom Symposium in Washington, D.C. His presentation focused on the Latarjet Procedure with a specific focus on reducing complications associated with this shoulder procedure. Latarjet is a procedure for patients with recurrent shoulder dislocations in which there is bone loss more than 15% of the glenoid making a simple arthroscopic procedure not viable. This type of procedure takes bone from another bone in the front of the shoulder and replaces the missing bone on the glenoid. Historically, this type of procedure has a high complication rate but new advances have made this procedure more effective and safer for patients with this difficult condition.
